About Us

  • The word of God tells us in Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of our selves together” The Amplified Bible says, “as is the habit of some people” There are many believers that have formed a habit of staying away from church. They all seem to have good reasons, but there is no good reason to disobey God. The latter part of that verse says, “and so much the more as the day is approaching” What day? The day of the coming of the Lord. We are living in a day that people need to belong to a church family. We need each other. All of us together make up the body of Christ. There are no rogue members to His body. It is vital that you are connected. There is tremendous power for living that comes from being connected to a body of believers that care about you.

Part of our vision here at Living Well Family Church is to be a place where that power for living is provided. It doesn’t matter where you’re at emotionally, or what you may have already done. God cares for you and hasn’t given up on you. As long as you humble yourself under His mighty hand He will lift you up. (I Peter 5:6) We are an extension of the hand of God to help lift His people to the places that He has destined them to be.

Living Well Family Church is a Spirit filled, non denominational church that preaches the uncompromised Word of God, with emphasis on spiritual growth, the development of personal relationships, community outreach and support, and we are mission minded.

  • Our Purpose

We all have a divine purpose for living, and so does the Church as a whole, and each individual ministry. For us to advance towards the fulfillment of our call as a church its going to take a continual remembrance of our purpose in everything we do, so that we can remain stirred towards that purpose. This involves specific calls within our Church family.

As we grow, many ministries, departments, activities, and events will be added, but the purpose will remain the same.

Here are a few of the things we see us doing as a church to press towards the fulfilling of our purpose.
    • Outreach/Evangelism

To continue to fulfill our purpose at Living Well, we need to press toward evangelising and reaching out to our community. This may be fulfilled in many different ways as the Holy Spirit leads. Remember we actively reach out and impact our families, our community and the world.

We are here to help each believer to be dedicated to the influence of the Gospel to hurting people around the world.

One particular out reach we have on our heart to develop is Just Go Ministries .

Through this ministry we will train the people to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as they go. Just Go is exactly what its all about. We need to just be obedient and make our selves available to the Holy Spirit and Just Go. We can see us sending people out to be involved in different areas of our community to give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to show Himself strong.

Remember according to our mission we are to "actively reach out and impact our families, our community and the world."
    • Equipping/Making Disciples

      2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction and instruction in righteousness.

The Word of God contains the power to equip, train, and change the believer into a vessel of honour for God's use.

For us to continue to achieve our purpose as a church, we need to continue focusing on equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. By the power of the Holy Ghost through revelation we assist the spiritual maturing of each believer.

Here at Living Well we are committed to your spiritual growth and your family in order to impact the world.

Through teaching, classes, and many other materials we will provide. We will accomplish developing strong Christian leaders that will follow the Holy Spirit instantly in all things.
    • Developing Sensitivity

In order for us to fulfill our purpose as a church, we must strive to be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy spirit for this hour, and teach the rest of the congregation how to be sensitive as well. The Holy Spirit is directing the church in these last days in a specific direction and we must be led by Him and not by church tradition.

We are committed to train and to develop you to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, so that you will be in position for this final work in these last days.
    • Relationships

To fulfill our purpose as a church we must continually encourage the people to form Godly, long-lasting relationships. This will build strength in our church.

We are dedicated to you, to help you feel connected. However, you must do your part to hook up. The Bible tells us: "can two walk together unless they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3)
    • Ministry Excellence

To fulfill our purpose we must continue to increase in excellence. We are convinced that the church should be the most beautiful and excellent place to visit. So to achieve this we must continue to press forward for growth in excellence in every area of ministry. Just good enough is not good enough. Everything must be done to the glory of God. Perfection is not what we're expecting, however excellence starts with an attitude and a desire to have all things pleasing God.

We see the church develop into having a facility that will give a testimony that glorifies God. We are committed to helping each person develop in excellence.
    • Prayer

To fulfill our purpose we must have a strong prayer foundation that is Spirit - led and directed, not only in our own individual lives, but also corporately as a church. Prayer is the basis for every successful endeavour. In order for God to move on our behalf, we must pray in accordance to His Word.

John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. And if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Prayer is a necessity as it is in that place where God's desires are prayed out, our weaknesses are prayed through, and out hearts are turned towards God so that He can speak to us.

We are committed to assisting the Holy Spirit in your prayer - life by imparting spiritual truths that will bring you into a deeper relationship with the Lord.
    • Worship

      John 4:23-24

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

In order for us to fulfill our purpose, our hearts must be turned to God at all times. Our worship should always bring us to repentance. We believe that during our times of corporate worship, we are laying a foundation for you to yield your heart to God so that you will have ears to hear when the Holy Spirit speaks to you. He is always speaking to our hearts, but we may not always be sensitive to hear. Worship is not singing, but rather a prostrate heart in all areas of your life.
  • Tenets of Faith

    • The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
    • The Godhead

Our God is One but manifested in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, neither being created but infinite and eternal, each being co-equal. Phil. 2:6
God the Father is greater than all, the source of the Word (logos) and the Begetter, John 14:28; 16:28: 1:14.
The Son is the Word made Flesh-covered, the One begotten and has existed with the Father from the beginning. John 1:1; 14, 18

The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son. John 15:26.
    • Man, His Fall and Redemption

Man is a created being made in the likeness and image of God. But through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10; 3:23; 5:14). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and the confession of Him as Saviour and Lord producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:8-10).
    • Forgiveness

If any believer sins, he has an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous, and, therefore, if he confesses his sin, He is faithful and just to forgive him his sin and to cleanse him from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9-2:1).
    • Divine Healing

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith and by the laying on of hands. It is provided in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ today (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15; I Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:4-5).
    • Eternal Life and The New Birth

Man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that works repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men and when fulfilled produces eternal life. (2 Cor. 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5.
    • Water Baptism

Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-38.)
    • Baptism in the Holy Ghost

The baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the New Birth. The experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Ghost Himself gives utterance. (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 19:1-7.)
    • Sanctification

The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite yet progressive work of grace commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consumption of salvation. (Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 1:30.)
    • The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ

"He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ that His soul was not left in hell neither His flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up..." Christ did truly rise again from the dead and ascended into Heaven and is seated at the Father's right hand where "He ever liveth to make intercession" for all believers. (Acts 2:21-32; Eph. 1:20; Heb. 7:25.)
    • Resurrection of The Just and The Return of Our Lord

The angels said, "This same Jesus shall so come in like manner." His coming is imminent. When He comes, "The dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air..." (1 Thess. 4:16-17; Acts 1:11.)
    • Hell and Eternal Retribution

The one who physically dies in his sin without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting" used in describing and duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God. (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:11-15.)
  • Our Pastors

Pastors Kevin and Anissa VaughnPastors Kevin and Anissa

Kevin and his wife Anissa were both born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland. It is there where he first received his call to the ministry in 1984. He spent several years in supportive roles assisting his pastor to fulfill his ministry. These roles included working with children and youth, as well as ushering and assistant pastor. These first few years he spent in training for what God had for him in the future. In 1987 it really started to bear witness within him that he was called to the full - time ministry. Shortly after that his calling was confirmed through a strong word from the Lord to go and to teach God's people how to abide in Him. From that point, many opportunities opened up for him to share the message that God had given him to different churches.
In 1996 the Lord began to speak to him to go to RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He and Anissa went to Tulsa in 1997 and he graduated from RHEMA in May of 1999. After a short time of itinerating, the Lord led them to Collingwood, Ontario where they pastored Living Faith Christian Church from April of 2000 to February of 2007. Currently they pastor Living Well Family Church in Cobourg, Ontario which they pioneered in September of 2007. Kevin ministers fresh revelation from the Spirit of God and teaches prophetically from the Word of God. Anissa ministers in anointed music through the piano and song. She is also a Spirit -led songwriter focusing on bringing the believer into closer fellowship with the Lord. Many people have been healed and delivered through their ministry.
